Birthday Parties Overview
At Riverbend, children’s birthday parties are more than just celebrations—they’re outdoor adventures that spark curiosity, joy, and a love for nature. Each party is thoughtfully designed around a nature theme, with activities ranging from whimsical woodland explorations to hands-on pond discoveries. Our experienced facilitators create engaging experiences that make your child’s special day unforgettable.
Recommended Ages: 3–10
IMPORTANT:
While our historic barn undergoes renovations, we’ll continue celebrating birthdays in the beauty of our outdoor spaces and cozy Farmhouse.
Birthday parties will be available in October 2026 and again from April through June 2027.
Birthday parties will not be offered during the winter months (November through March).
These offerings are temporary while construction is underway. We look forward to welcoming birthday parties back to our renovated barn in Summer 2027!
Birthday Party Options
To ensure every celebration is comfortable and enjoyable, party options are based on your group size.
Best for: Up to 12 children
Celebrate in our charming Farmhouse before heading outdoors for your nature adventure.
The Farmhouse offers:

Approximately 200 square feet of indoor space

Farmhouse Party
Best for: Up to 25 guests
Enjoy an immersive outdoor celebration surrounded by nature.
The Pavilion offers:

Approximately 450 square feet

Three picnic tables

Composting restroom

No electricity
Pavillion Party
Maximum attendance for all birthday parties is 25 people, including children and adults.
Birthday Party Information
Read below for everything you need to know about hosting your special day at Riverbend!
Because of the temporary party locations and ongoing construction, every birthday party reservation must include a designated inclement weather date.
To keep the celebration simple and allow for more time exploring nature, we recommend serving:

Drinks
If your party is held at the Farmhouse, refrigerator space will be available.
If your party is held outdoors, we can provide insulated cooler bags for food storage. Please note that food temperatures cannot be guaranteed.

Portable restrooms located near the parking lot

Composting restroom near the Pavilion

Farmhouse parties will have access to one indoor restroom

To help protect our natural spaces:

Riverbend will provide paper table coverings.

Families are welcome to bring their own decorations.

Please note, we ask that you pack out decorations you bring in at the end of the party.

Riverbend is a proud partner of Leave No Trace, a nonprofit providing education, training, and outreach in more than 100 countries around the globe. Every one of our scout programs includes instruction in the Leave No Trace Seven Principles, practices that guide sustainable, respectful, and responsible outdoor experiences. These principles are used by major forces in environmental education, including the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, USDA Forest Service, and US Fish and Wildlife Service.
