Annual Fund

"Ensuring that children have direct access to nature is not easy in today's technology-centric world, yet it's more important than ever - for the well-being of each child, for the health of our communities, and for the future protection of our natural world."
-- Glenn Barenbaum, Riverbend Board Member

Every year friends combine resources to fulfill the Riverbend mission of connecting children and their families to the natural world through hands-on discovery. We invite you to make a generous gift to strengthen work being done right here in our community. Your annual gift builds not just a greener future, but a better one - for school children, for families, for visiting hikers, and even for the birds and native wildflowers that make their home on our preserve. Seeing increased demand for Riverbend programs energizes our efforts and we hope it inspires you! As our programs grow, so does our responsibility to find and train the best education staff, coordinate hundreds of volunteers, and invest in our grounds to keep them safe and green, thriving with native habitat.

Many organizations do valuable work, why support Riverbend? We believe our completed fiscal year numbers provide an exciting snapshot and suggest significant impact:

  • 35,000 program visits
  • 19,500 school students reached - 65% of whom are from underserved communities.
  • 151 schools served in five counties
  • 3,700 volunteer hours contributed
  • 30 acres open to the public 7 days a week
  • 4,400 native tree, shrubs, and perennials planted
  • 40 years of experience providing environmental education

Our work isn't finished. You can join with us to build on Riverbend successes and create a better future. More than ever, our natural world needs protection, our children need opportunities to connect with nature, and we all need special places to restore our spirits!

Thank you for considering how a generous gift can make a difference.

With warm regards,
