Shiverfest is Riverbend’s most entertaining night of the year, with visitors enjoying a fun, family friendly event with engaging activities sprinkled throughout our site. This past year we hosted almost 750 people, our biggest crowd yet!
As the name evokes, Shiverfest is a slightly spooky but always friendly fall festival. Halloween is the prevailing theme with pumpkin decorating, a trick or treat trail, and storytelling around the campfire after our costumed visitors have trekked the infamous Haunted Trail. Back by popular demand will be our Forgotten Friends reptile show, moon bounce, ghostly stargazing and more.
Riverbend teaches environmental principles to children through a direct connection with nature, inspiring respect for our natural world and action as aware, responsible and caring citizens. Established in 1974 as a wildlife refuge on the remaining land of a local estate, we have evolved into a dynamic center for important nature and science education initiatives that are impacting future generations of environmental stewardship.
Riverbend now serves more than 19,000 people annually through our programs plus an additional 400 volunteers help to restore and maintain our 30 acre preserve.
Support from Shiverfest directly supports our education programs for children. In 2014, our school programs alone served nearly 11,000 individual students, 40% from underserved schools across the Philadelphia region. Your support will bring nature and hands-on learning into the lives of children who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
Tickets, while they last, are $12 in advance* or $15 at the door. Children 3 and under are free.
Skip the lines at sign in! Admission wrist bands will be sent in the mail the week of the event for all pre-purchased tickets.
