Since it's founding in 2011, the Philadelphia Science Festival has brought together more than 250 new partnerships and collaborations, taking science out of the classroom and into restaurants, museums, libraries, galleries and even street corners. The third annual Philadelphia Science Festival is set for April 18-28 with more than 100 thought provoking events. Continuing with our mission to teach children about environmental science, Riverbend has teamed up with the Philadelphia Science Festival as a core collaborator.
The Philadelphia Science Festival aims to provide opportunities for all Philadelphians to positively engage with and build a community around science by showcasing the role it plays in the city and region. The festival will engage and excite Philadelphians in the wonders of science and inspire them to interact with science, engineering, and technology events and activities on a regular basis.
Riverbend is proud to be hosting two events for the Philadelphia Science Festival. On Tuesday, April 23rd Riverbend welcomes diners to The Sustainable Table: A Dinner Experience. Chief Max Hansen will prepare a 4 course meal that highlights sustainable food production. On Friday, April 26th Riverbend will host star gazers for Astronomy Night. During the Philadelphia Science Festival week Riverbend can also be found at the Science Carnival on the Parkway and neighborhood library events at Logan and Wynnefield. The Philadelphia region has long been the birthplace of innovation and Riverbend is pleased to highlight our partners at the Philadelphia Science Festival.
